Rajesh Dhairyawan, MD, FACC, MB. ChB, FSCAI

 

Dr. Dhairyawan was born in Mumbai, India; and subsequently moved to England, United Kingdom to complete his formal education. He obtained his medical degree from the University of Aberdeen, Scotland, UK in 1988 with special distinction in Internal Medicine and Pediatrics.   He worked for several years at various hospitals in Scotland and England, including the Cardiothoracic & Vascular Surgery Unit at Aberdeen Royal Infirmary and Raigmore Hospital in Inverness, Scotland, as well as in the Cardio-Respiratory Unit at St James' University Hospital in Leeds, England and Burnley General Hospital, England.

 

In 1991 Dr. Dhairyawan started an Internal Medicine Residency training program at Metro Health Medical Center/Case Western Reserve University in Cleveland, Ohio. He completed his Internal Medicine Residency training at the University of Miami/Jackson Memorial Medical Center, Miami, Florida in 1994.  He completed his subspecialty Cardiology Fellowship  at the University of Miami in 1997 and accomplished a further year of sub-subspecialty training in Interventional Cardiology at University of Miami in 1998 earning the prestigious "Harry Botwick Memorial Award" (Cardiology Fellow of the Year 1997-98).

 

Dr. Dhairyawan practiced Clinical and Interventional Cardiology from 1998 - 2003 as part of a large Cardiology group throughout a great part of Dade county.

 

In 2003 Dr. Dhairyawan started a solo practitioner tract and has been affiliated with several prominent hospitals in South Dade county, namely Baptist Hospital of Miami, Kendall Regional Medical Center, and South Miami Hospital.

 

He has extensive experience in the diagnosis and treatment of a wide range of cardiovascular conditions, such as angina pectoris, coronary heart disease, atherosclerosis, myocardial infarction, and several other disorders of the cardiovascular system.

 

His qualifications and certifications include:

Special interests include : Acute coronary syndromes. Coronary Interventions, including rotablator, stent, and intravascular ultrasound, as well as peripheral vascular intervention. Also, transradial cardiac catheterizaton and angioplasty. Cardiovascular Research (participated in numerous (including ongoing) trials, including ACUITY, COOL MI, COOL RCN,ICE-IT, Nitric Oxide-Acute MI), and the ongoing ABSORB III trial of BioResorbable coronary stents.
